What does a good application look like?
Have you found a great job advertisement? Would you like to apply for it? Here is an overview of the most important cornerstones of an application in Germany.
There are various ways to apply: classically by post, as an e-mail with a PDF attachment or online. Depending on how you should apply, of course, the forms of application differ. However, two things must always be clear from the documents: why you want exactly this position and what qualifications you have. The first is explained in the cover letter, the second in the CV. For applications by post, you can add a cover page, sometimes a letter of motivation is also required. In this you explain your very special interest and explain why exactly you fit best in this position. You should always pay attention to correct spelling and a suitable page layout.

The CV should not exceed two pages.
In the attachment, you send certificates and letters of reference. Unless otherwise required, you can send a simple copy. If the certificates are written in a language other than German or English, it may be advisable to have translations made.
What is important during the interview?
If your cover letter was good and you were shortlisted, you will be invited to an interview. If you are still abroad, this can also take place online. In any case, good preparation is important. If the employer and employee agree, a written employment contract is concluded in which the framework conditions of employment are agreed.
